In 2012, Dr. Aishwarya achieved a monumental milestone by securing All India Rank 2 in both the AIPMT (now NEET) and AIIMS UG MBBS entrance exams. This remarkable feat earned her a coveted seat at AIIMS New Delhi, the pinnacle of medical education in India. Dr. Aishwarya’s journey took a transformative turn in 2018 when she stepped into the field of Ophthalmology. Graduating with a Gold Medal from AIIMS New Delhi in 2021, she was also honored with the Best Junior Resident Award, a reflection of her exceptional clinical acumen and commitment to patient care. Her passion for Myopia and Amblyopia therapy led her to specialize in Pediatric Ophthalmology, at AIIMS New Delhi.
In addition to her specialization, Dr. Aishwarya pursued advanced training in refractive surgery, earning the FAICO Refractive Surgery qualification from the All India Ophthalmological Society (AIOS). Her dedication to continuous learning is evident in her successful completion of the DNB and MNAMSÂ examinations, further solidifying her credentials as a leading ophthalmologist.
Dr. Aishwarya is not only a skilled clinician but also a prolific academician. She has authored more than 10 chapters in various books and has over 30 publications in renowned national and international journals. Her research contributions have been widely recognized, and she has actively participated in numerous national conferences, including DOS, AIOS, INOS, and YOSICon, where she has earned 4 Best Paper Awards for her outstanding presentations. Her expertise has also been showcased on the global stage, with presentations at 2 international conferences, including the prestigious APAO 2023, where she was honored with the Yasuo Tano Travel Grant.
With a wealth of surgical experience, Dr. Aishwarya has operated on more than 3000 patients, performing procedures ranging from cataract surgeries (including complicated cases and pediatric cataracts) to squint corrections, SFIOL, and iris claw lens implantations. Her surgical precision and dedication to patient care have earned her immense respect among peers and patients alike. Beyond her clinical work, she has trained over 100 residents in cataract surgical techniques and has delivered insightful lectures on topics such as nystagmus, squint, and pediatric ophthalmological diseases, inspiring the next generation of eye care professionals.
